Hey Fitness Enthusiasts, I would like to share with you a true success story; I would like to introduce you to Robb Price; husband to Ceilidh, father to Caeden, friend to all and Type 1 diabetic since the age of 12. Robb had 3 significant obstacles as he started on his health & fitness overhaul; social smoking, bad eating habits, and Type 1 diabetes better known as Juvenile Diabetes. Two of the three obstacles I knew we could overcome the third I was confident we could manage or improve. We designed a program that would get Robb to his goals in a safe and effective manner. With the approval from his physician in hand to begin an exercise program the next step was to complete a fitness evaluation.

On April 2010 Robb weighed in at 237.6 lbs with a body fat percent of 33%. His measurements were as follows:
With the evaluation complete the real work was about to get underway. It was important to ensure that the training schedule was realistic and would work with his family life, social commitments and work schedule. Robb's workout plan was a mix of personal training, bootcamps and a family cardio program which entailed him, Ceilidh and Caeden to go for a run. The look on Robb's face when I told him he had to run without being chased side was as though I had three heads. The great thing is though he began to do it, regularly. We began by putting smaller goals ahead of him in order to have something to work for the first being the 2010 Sport Cheks mother's Day Run. Robb was able to complete his first 5km run ever and I believe that he caught the bug that would push him to run on his own.

Over the course of the spring and summer Robb was diligent in his training, monitoring his eating and keeping is diabetes in check. With the improvement in his health and fitness, Robb was beginning to understand the benefits of leading a more active and healthy lifestyle. With a routine in place and being conscious of his eating his body began to utilize energy more efficiently. After several weeks of training and seeing the results on the measuring tape, looser fitting clothes and increased endurance and strength, Robb decided to participate in Body Be Fits 6 Week Pound for Pound Challenge. With a short term goal in place Robb took his dedication to a higher level. From our very first evaluation to the end of our challenge on October 2, 2010 these are the results of what dedication, hard work, and discipline can do.
