CARLA’S JOURNEY

As I worked hard to advance my career, a fast-paced job with 60-hour work weeks and constant travel began to take a toll on my health and fitness. I kept telling myself I would get back to healthy eating and exercising “next week” – which never happened. I woke up one day and realized how heavy I’d gotten, and I resolved to do something about it.

I started exercising but hated every minute of it. I tried fitness classes, bootcamps, running groups, and personal training – but I’d end up getting frustrated after a month or two and find an excuse to give up. I continued this pattern for nearly two years, losing only 35 pounds* in the process and not making any improvements to my overall level of fitness.

In 2011, I was looking for yet another exercise program. I found the Body Be Fit bootcamps and signed up. Just days later, I injured myself in a motorcycle accident. I emailed Kevin to tell him the news – I wasn’t going to make the sessions. Only minutes later, Kevin responded, asking if I was ok. He let me know I was welcome to start bootcamps whenever I was safely able to. I got another note from him the week after that… and the week after that. The compassion and concern Kevin showed towards someone he’d never met was inspiring and encouraging. I attended my first bootcamp in mid-August 2011, and I’ve been working out with Body Be Fit every since.

The enthusiasm from the Body Be Fit team was infectious and proved to be the motivation I needed to succeed in my fitness goals. With their guidance, I finally stopped making excuses and took control of my own health – eating better and exercising smarter.

When work demands crept up and again threatened to derail my progress, Kevin worked with my schedule and set up 5:45 am personal training sessions so I could still get my workouts in. By February 2012, I achieved a body fat percentage of 21.1%*, which was right on track with my goal to be under 22%.

In the time I’ve been with Body Be Fit, I’ve lost 112 pounds* and dropped from a size 18 to a size 4*. I’m now committed to life-long fitness and continuous self-improvement. It won’t always be an easy road to follow, but the ones worth taking seldom are. I am forever grateful to the Body Be Fit team for taking the journey with me.
